In recent years, Nigeria's tech industry has demonstrated remarkable growth and potential, becoming a leading sector driving economic development and innovation. Despite its foundational stage, with most funding coming from foreign sources, Nigerian tech startups have raised over $2 billion between 2015 and 2022, according to Disrupt Africa. Investment in Nigerian startups has grown phenomenally, from $49 million in 2015 to over $747 million in 2022.However, significant challenges remain, particularly in accessing adequate financing to scale operations. While startups need funds to grow and investors seek profitable returns, there has been limited development of local funding capacity. The 3rd Techpreneur Summit addressed these issues by providing a platform for stakeholders to discuss strategies for increasing financing in Nigeria's tech industry. The summit brought together key players from the public and private sectors, including government representatives, investors, entrepreneurs, industry experts, and policymakers, to share insights, best practices, and explore collaboration opportunities. The Techpreneur Summit 2024 promoted and showcased investor-ready technology innovations within Nigeria's entrepreneurial ecosystem. In partnership with Addium Capital, the summit featured a dedicated DealRoom session. This exclusive DealRoom served as a platform for techpreneurs to meet directly with potential investors. By integrating a DealRoom into the summit, we bridged the gap between capital seekers and investors, catalyzing funding opportunities and fostering regenerative growth within the Nigerian tech ecosystem.
