Abstract

The study assesses how gender inclusive education modulates the incidence of female unemployment on female self-employment in 44 Sub-Saharan African (SSA) countries. The empirical evidence is based on interactive quantile regressions which articulate countries with low, intermediate and high initial levels of female self-employment. The hypothesis that inclusive education modulates female unemployment to promote female self-employment is not validated. The invalidity is consistent throughout the conditional distribution of female self-employment. Policy implications are discussed.
