Abstract
The present study investigates the relationship among entrepreneurship, economic growth, and poverty reduction in Nigeria, using various theoretical frameworks including institutional theory, resource-based view, and human capital theory. Approach-wise, Granger Causality, Variance Decomposition, and Vector Autoregression (VAR) were used to examine causal connections and dynamic relationships between the variables. The research examines the effects of entrepreneurship on economic growth and poverty reduction in Nigeria using time-series data from 2000 to 2023 obtained from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). The results highlight barriers like regulatory limitations and insufficient infrastructure, while also underscoring the critical role that entrepreneurship plays in promoting inclusive development and economic growth. The policy implications highlight the significance of knowledge-sharing initiatives, institutional support mechanisms, and legislative reforms in promoting innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystems. To gain a deeper understanding of the entrepreneurial landscape in Nigeria and to support evidence-based policymaking, future research endeavours may investigate comparative analyses, technological innovations, and longitudinal studies. Nigeria can use entrepreneurship as a driving force for sustainable development and socioeconomic advancement by gaining an in-depth knowledge of these intricate dynamics.
